West Africa Scrapbook, [187-?] - 1886.

The scrapbook contains a manuscript and artwork by Thomson and photographs of Thomson. The volume also includes clippings from publications by uncredited authors and an article by H.H. Johnston. The materials relate to Thomson's and other individuals' travels in West Africa in the late 19th century with an emphasis on the riverways ending in the Gulf of Guinea, in what is modern day Nigeria and Cameroon.
